I like the Masi townie...I'd like it better w/ cork grips...Tres Sporting. ..however, I will never fully get on board w/ the "cruiser" style swooping lines.
I like all these bikes. I'm not wild about the flat fenders on the Masi or the Seven -- I don't think they would keep the rain off very well.
Those Sycips are sweet -- love the green Honjo fenders on the middle one, although the last Sycip bike would suit me better -- hub-generator w/ lights, fenders, hub-shifter. Very nice! I'll take the porteur rack from the Seven and stick it on that last Sycip - perfect!
BTW: "Belgium" knee warmers? Have you ever been to Belgium? All champions from so called Belgium are Flemish; I don't see the point of referring to Belgium. In "Belgium"/Flanders/Vlaanderen we call them Flandriens!
...my, my, my, anon 4:09am...aren't you a classy guy ???...you don't identify yourself...you rip the contents...you don't contribute anything worth while...& to top it all off, the site name isn't to YOUR liking, so you use it to allude to your 'knowledgeable superiority' (& that's not really contributing)... ...i've got no reason to call YOU names, you just did it yourself...
Belgium? Does anyone really care? Or even know where it is? Okay, I'm just kdding. I love the Dutch! (yes, I'm kidding again)
On another note, Let's talk about El Tour De America! I'm thinking this is a really bad idea. In typical American bigger is better fashion, the race is 27 stages and 3,200 miles long. 3,200 miles! Dangle $11 million in prize money and you have a drug-fest mess on your hands. Even if they would race clean (snicker), the organizers appear to be running head first into a first year boondoggle that could very likely cause more harm than good to US cycling.

in Belgium, that isn't that early... ;-)
"you don't identify yourself..." I am not obliged, i think. Look at the other comments: all anon. BTW, "bikesgonewild" isn't that en lighting also.

"& to top it all off, the site name isn't to YOUR liking, so you use it to allude to your 'knowledgeable superiority' (& that's not really contributing)" that's right, and I explained why.
"...i've got no reason to call YOU names, you just did it yourself..." so don't. simple.
BTW: Belgium is an artificial name for a country that no one ever wanted. Check current politics and you'll understand. Maybe you'll need to change the name of the site anyway as we're heading to the end of Belgium. beside that, stick to Flandriens, those where the ones that where the true champions.

I don't think you understand it... but forget it and keep appreciating those riders.
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. BKW is open to all, with the ability to comment anonymously if you choose. The name of the blog was chosen as an ode to the passion for cycling that radiates from both the north and south of Belgium. Despite any differences that exist inside the country, one thing rings true and that is a love for the bicycle. Whether you are located south or north of center, Begium's combined passion and dedication to cycling is second to none. I certainly agree with you that the majority of Belgium's champions were Flandrian, Merckx, Verbeek, Museeuw, Schotte, Steenbergen, Riks I and II, Vanderaerden and, of course, Boonen. It's difficult to argue with Flanders' ability to produce great cyclists. The list reads like a who's-who of hardmen. In my view, no other country loves cycling the way Belgium does.
For many professional cyclists the Spring campaign is the toughest of the season; it means training from October until March in the worst, character-building weather conditions Europe can dish out. This weather and the suffering that is bicycle racing breed characters known as "hardmen".
Select cyclists tackle these conditions in shorts, long sleeve jerseys or short sleeve jerseys with arm warmers, wind vests, and shoe covers. A true hardman opts to forego the knee or leg warmers and instead chooses an embrocation to cover the knees. The liniment provides warmth for the legs and keeps the blood circulating and muscles supple. Embrocation and the sheen created is affectionately known as "Belgium knee warmers". The hardest of cyclists will sport bare legs in the most ruthless of conditions.
Belgium Knee Warmers are indicitive of the many subtleties that make professional cycling so enthralling.
I spent 20 years of my life working in the bicycle industry, turning wrenches and selling bikes for some of the industry's best shops. I have extensive experience designing and constructing frames in both steel and titanium and have performed thousands of bike fits. I am passionate about bicycles in all forms. The bicycle provides me with physical and mental health and taps me into a social pipeline that allows me to share my passion with others. I ride as often as possible and love the flow of a hard group ride. Check back for musings about all things road cycling and, especially, the Spring Classics. The devil is in the details and I am an expert in the useless minutia that makes up our discipline.

at least the masi would be affordable. the others would be a bit expensive for cruising, don't you think?
prehistoric American retro models, who cares?
