Interesting that the organizers didn't DQ the riders who went through the closed train crossing. This little tidbit would have been helpful for Bruyneel with his case for Hoste.

I was caught off guard by the race not finishing on the Roubaix Velodrome. I did a bit of checking, and it turns out that 1986 was the first year since WWII that P-R didn't finish on the velodrome. That same, non-velodrome finish was used again in 1987-1988, and I believe backlash concerning the break in tradition moved was the reason P-R's finish returned to the velodrome from 1989 to the present.
