Do we know the entire story behind this win???

I guess it is all in queston now. But one thing is for sure, the conditions in 2002 were epic.

Yep. I still love the sport, irrespective of the doping.

Epic indeed. Even the moto-cameras were mud-splattered.
We may never know the whole story. I suspect that many were epo-doping that year because there no good way to detect it then. If he doped, he at least beat other dopers in addition to the clean riders. I wish they'd all ride clean, but it's hard to know who is and who isn't. And like a moth to the flame, I still love it.

Thanks for the link. I really enjoy reading this site.

Chris D - Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and visiting BKW. I, too, am the proverbial moth to the flame. I can not get enough of the PRO world and, despite the rampant doping, races like the 2002 PR continue to shine like a light bulb on a dark country porch. I am drawn to its drama and continuously bounce aimlessly against it. RF

Damn, that's cool! I too cannot stay away despite all the doping and related innuendo. Despite being shaped like a climber, someday I'm going to have to ride those cobbles.
